The futures of Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic are already up in the air and now, another Celtic player has been tipped to make a move to the Premier League in the near future. One thing that goes on to show though is the incredible amount of talent that the club have been able to assemble in a short period of time that Ange Postecoglou has been the manager.
The latest player being tipped to make the move down South is Matt O’Riley. When the club signed him from MK Dons in January, there were big question marks about whether he was up to the mark and could make the jump from the English League One to the Scottish Premiership.
It has not taken him long to prove all the doubters wrong though and he is a starter for Celtic already, and one of the club’s most highly-rated player.
It has also led to several top clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and others being linked with him, although Newcastle United have seemed to be keeping the closest eye.
Another Celtic player tipped to make Premier League move
As reported by HITC, Jonas Hebo Rasmussen told TV2:
"“He himself has gone all in on the Danish national team. And after taking Celtic by storm, it probably won’t be long before he has to go to the Premier League.“(A move to England) increases his chances of a place in the Danish national team.”"
It is safe to say that if O’Riley continues to develop at the rate that he has since joining Celtic, then it would not be long before a Premier League club, or more, come in with a big transfer bid to sign him.
At this time though, Celtic might be the best place for him to continue playing as he is getting consistent game time with the Hoops.
At 22 years of age, that is important for his development. He will have plenty of time to get his big move to the Premier League one day. And considering the stature of the clubs being linked with him, it is almost certain to happen at some point.
