Celtic’s players did enjoy a pretty good World Cup. All four of them managed to make it to the knockout stages of the competition, while Josip Juranovic will even be taking part in the quarter-final as Croatia take on Brazil. Thus, it is safe to say that these players would have caught the eye of the footballing world with their performances in Qatar.

Juranovic, Aaron Mooy and Daizen Maeda have gone on to have standout tournaments, while Cameron Carter-Vickers also did a job when put on the pitch.

One man who seems destined for the Parkhead exit door after the World Cup is Juranovic. Rumours have suggested that talks over a new deal have broken down and the club have even gone on to sign Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal, who does seem like a potential replacement for the Croatian at right-back.

There is certainly no lack of interest in Juranovic and in addition to several Premier League clubs, it looks like Atletico Madrid have joined the race to sign the Croatian. A report from GOL Digital goes on to read:

"Taking advantage of the celebration of the World Cup in Qatar, the rojiblanco team is closely following the performances of the full-backs. At the moment, in addition to big names like Hakimi, Trippier or Koundé, there is a footballer who has attracted the attention of important clubs. A player who is a complete unknown to the general public. This footballer is Josip Juranovic, who has become the owner of the right lane behind Croatia. His work in the Croatian team is being key, being one of the most outstanding footballers in his position so far in the World Cup. That is why he has drawn the attention of several of the most powerful clubs in all of Europe."

Atletico Madrid have joined the race to sign the Celtic star after the World Cup

Juranovic has been a nailed on starter for Croatia at the World Cup, who have been very impressive at the back in this tournament.

The team have kept two clean sheets and conceded only two goals in four games so far. Of course, their big test will be coming up against Brazil, who have looked brilliant and put four past South Korea in the last 16 game.

Juranovic does seem to have some big clubs after his signature though. Other than Atletico Madrid, the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham United have been linked with a potential move for the Croatian right-back in the recent past.
