Celtic’s squad was already pretty strong and they have added Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston to that. Not just that but news has also emerged that the exits of Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis are not inevitable, and there will be more talks with them over new deals. Yet, it looks like the Hoops are not looking to stop adding to their roster further after the World Cup.

One player who has impressed in the World Cup is Cho Gue-sung of South Korea. He scored twice against Ghana and has been impressive overall, as his national team made it to the last 16 of the competition and will face Brazil.

Celtic have been rumoured with a potential interest in Cho, who has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund. And, it looks like there is substance to those rumours.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, it’s understood that a number of targets from the Middle East, Asia & also North Africa have emerged for Celtic, including South Korea forward Cho Gue-sung.

It goes without saying that someone like Cho could be a solid addition for Celtic and he has all the attributes required to be a success in Postecoglou’s side.

The club do already have two very good strikers in the form of Kyogo and Giakoumakis, but there are question marks over the long-term future of the Greek international at Parkhead, while the Japanese star has looked out of form in front of goal at times this season.

Thus, the club could definitely do with another option at striker in order to not only compete for the starting spot but also to provide competition to Kyogo and Giakoumakis, and hopefully raise their games further as well. Someone like Cho would be a great addition if Celtic can sign him.
