Celtic have been handed an unexpected blow as rumours broke out that Giorgos Giakoumakis could be on his way out of the club next month. The Greek striker has failed to agree a new deal and unless things change drastically, it does not look like a compromise will be reached between the two parties. It goes without saying that if he did indeed leave, the Hoops would need to bring in a replacement immediately.
Giakoumakis has been a big part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans and he was one of the key reasons why Celtic ended up winning the league title last season, as his form in the second half of the campaign was superb and often does not get enough credit.
Now though, it looks like Celtic are staring at a future without Giakoumakis, and it appears that they have an in-form Dutch striker in their sights to replace him.
As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic are “very interested” in Dutch striker Said Hamulic.

It is safe to say that someone like Hamulic could go on to be a solid long-term signing for Celtic, if they did manage to sign him.
He is just 22 years of age and has been in very good form this season. And if he can carry that form into the Scottish league then, he could certainly be one of the best strikers in the country.
At the same time though, the last time Celtic signed a striker from the Polish league, it was Patryk Klimala, and that did not go as well as they would have been hoping.
Thus, while there might be some question marks about Hamulic, it must be pointed though that he has a solid goalscoring record wherever he has been till now and seems like a player who knows his way to the back of the net.
