Celtic have already started to make their moves for January. A deal for Yuki Kobayashi is already over the line and while he might not be able to play for the club before next year, he is free to start training with his new teammates now. On the other hand, a deal to sign Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal is expected to go through as well, now that Canada’s World Cup campaign has come to an end.

It must be said that Celtic are in a great position already and do not need to make a lot of additions to their squad. But at the same time, there are rumours that Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis could be on their way out of the club in January after failing to agree new deals.

Thus, perhaps the Hoops could do with some reinforcements and it might not be a bad idea to bring in a Manchester City wonderkid in on loan till the end of the season.

Cole Palmer was incredible for Manchester City while coming through the youth ranks. The attacking midfielder’s record for the Citizens’ under-18 and under-21 side is quite something. He is not getting enough playing time at the senior level though and perhaps could be helped by a loan move away in order to gain some experience in the senior game.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Palmer has made 12 appearances and played just 325 minutes of football for Manchester City this season.

Only 99 of those minutes have come in the Premier League. That goes on to show that perhaps he could to do with some senior experience somewhere else before making the jump to the Manchester City first-team.

Celtic and Manchester City do have a history of getting deals done. Thus, a loan move for Palmer might be a possibility if the Hoops pushed for it.
