Things will look a lot different in the Scottish Premiership when we return from the World Cup break. After falling nine points behind Celtic in the title race, the Rangers have ended up showing Giovanni van Bronckhorst the exit door, despite him delivering the Scottish Cup last season and guiding them to the Europa League final as well. His replacement is Mick Beale.

Beale is in his first season in management and had only 22 games under his belt at QPR, before making the move to Ibrox. So, it goes without saying that the Rangers are taking a big risk with this appointment.

Beale had a good reputation as a coach, but managing a team is a whole different ball game. His own record at QPR was not spectacular either, as the club won nine games, lost nine and drew four during his time at Loftus Road.

What does Postecoglou think about the Rangers bringing in Beale as their new manager? As it turns out, it looks like he does not think about the matter much at all. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, while speaking to reporters on Celtic’s official YouTube channel, the Australian said:

"“On the scale of things that have been on my mind over the last two weeks, I reckon that’s registering below what I’m having for dinner tonight. It just doesn’t really come on my radar. What opposition clubs do, with their managers, any opposition club, is of no real interest unless we’re playing them in the next game.“Beyond that, no real interest. From my perspective, Gio I thought was and is a fantastic manager who has a great record in Holland and actually a great record here in Scotland too. If you look at his year, he won a trophy and got to a European trophy. I have no doubt he’ll be successful wherever he goes again.“In terms of me, or my thoughts on what other clubs do. I have zero interest. I have enough on my plate.”"

It is safe to say that Beale will have a huge experience disadvantage up against Postecoglou, who has won league titles in Japan, Australia and Scotland, while also having managed the Socceroos at the World Cup in the past.

Postecoglou should surely like his chances here, with the Hoops already leading the league title race by nine points.

Of course, it would be a mistake to completely rule out Beale before even seeing what he brings to the table. For Celtic though, the focus must be completely on themselves and continuing to rack up the points. Doesn’t matter what happens at Ibrox.
