After Josip Juranovic was linked with a Parkhead exit after the World Cup, it looks like another Celtic star could look to join the Croatian out of the exit door at the start of next year. The Hoops have done a brilliant job with their recruitment in recent times but now, it looks like some of their players could be on their way out, which would without a doubt be a worry for Ange Postecoglou.

Giorgos Giakoumakis has had an interesting Celtic career for sure. The fans had written him off after the first half of last season as he failed to make any impact and struggled with fitness issues constantly. But the Greek striker turned things around completely after the turn of the year and was one of the key reasons behind the Hoops’ Premiership triumph, after going on a hot streak in front of goal.

He has not been as prolific in the first half of this season but there is no doubt that he remains a key part of Postecoglou’s squad. The manager has been handed a worry though.

As reported by the Daily Record, Giakoumakis is poised for a Celtic exit in January. The Hoops have been unable to reach an agreement over an improved contract with the striker and unless the situation changes drastically, a compromise seems unlikely to be reached.

Like Juranovic, Giakoumakis also has a long-term contract with Celtic and the club should not be under any pressure to let him go immediately.

At the same time though, Postecoglou has made it clear in the past that he would stand in players’ way if they want to leave.

With Kyogo struggling with his form in front of goal lately, if Giakoumakis did leave the club in the middle of the season, it would be a major blow for Celtic.
