In recent times, most of the transfer business surrounding Celtic has been about players coming in and improving Ange Postecoglou’s squad. Sooner or later, some are expected to be on their way out as well, considering how well some of them have been doing in recent times. And it appears that West Ham United have their eyes on one of the starters in the current set up.
Celtic are believed to be closing in on a move for Canadian defender, Alistair Johnston, who could be a replacement for Josip Juranovic, who is rumoured to be on his way out of the club after the World Cup.
Juranovic has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid in the past, but it looks like the Croatian could have more suitors if or when he departs Parkhead.
As reported by 90min, West Ham United are impressed by Juranovic but any move is dependent on whether Bayer Leverkusen firm up their interest in Vladimir Coufal, who has been in and out of David Moyes’ side this season.
West Ham United have their eyes on Celtic starter but could make a move only on one condition
West Ham United have had a couple of great seasons and in many ways, overachieved under the management of Moyes. But this time around, things are not going so well for the Hammers, as they currently sit at 16th in the Premier League table.
If they do end up making an offer for Juranovic, it would be interesting to see if the Croatian international is open to leaving Celtic in order to get involved in a potential Premier League relegation tug-of-war.
Juranovic is not expected to have any lack of suitors and while Celtic might have shelled out a transfer fee around £2.5 million to sign him, they should look for a lot more than that.
