Celtic find themselves in a terrific position right now in all aspects. They have a brilliant manager in Ange Postecoglou. The team has been brought together only recently as well following the rebuild of the previous campaign. Thus, one would expect them to stay together for some time more, although players like Josip Juranovic could already be on their way out of Parkhead.

The club continue to show ambition in the transfer market as well though. While Juranovic could end up leaving after the World Cup, the Hoops are believed to be closing in on a move for Alistair Johnston. The Canadian international has impressed at the World Cup and is believed to be one of the best in the MLS right now.

Talking about right-backs, one of Celtic’s former players, Jeremie Frimpong, has been a revelation since joining Bayer Leverkusen. His form in the Bundesliga has seen him being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, Frimpong is aware of Manchester United’s interest and his departure from Bayer Leverkusen is more than possible in 2023.

Manchester United could hand Celtic a major boost by signing Frimpong

Bayer Leverkusen are believed to have signed Frimpong from Celtic in a package worth around £11.5 million.

But there is also believed to be a significant sell-on clause included as well. As a result, if Manchester United shell out a big transfer fee to sign Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, it would benefit Celtic too.

Rumours have suggested that Frimpong is rated at around £30 million, but considering his age and how well he has performed in the Bundesliga, alongside the interest of European giants like Manchester United, Chelsea and potentially more, it would not come as a surprise if the figure turned out to be much bigger when his departure from Bayer Leverkusen was sealed.
