With just 15 games played in the league season, Celtic are already leading the Rangers by a significant nine points. And that has forced the Ibrox club into making a change. That has come in the form of Giovanni van Bronckhorst being shown the exit door, despite leading them to the Scottish Cup and the Europa League final last season, and replacing him with Mike Beale.

Beale was managing at QPR before this, which was his first job and he only has 22 games under his belt as a manager till now. Thus, it goes without saying that the Rangers are taking a big risk here, bringing in someone with his level of experience up against Ange Postecoglou, who has won league titles in Australia, Japan and Scotland while achieving success at the international level as well with the Socceroos.

Kris Boyd believes though that Beale feels that he can turn it around at Ibrox, which is why he has taken the Rangers job.

As reported by the Daily Record, Boyd said on Sky Sports News:

"“He has probably had one eye on this. I know he has been very vocal on why he turned down Wolves, but Rangers is a special football club. It plays with your heart strings, and he feels as if he can go and turn it around.”"

It is safe to say that Celtic fans are not too worried about the appointment of Beale as the manager of the Rangers.

He did have a good reputation as a coach and had quite some experience doing that, but it is a whole different ball game when it comes to being in the hot seat yourself and managing a club.

There have been a lot more accomplished coaches than Beale over the years who have struggled in management.

How will Beale do? Only time shall tell. The job that Celtic have is to prepare for the best version of the Rangers and if they fall short of that, it is their problem, not that of the Hoops.
