Rangers find themselves in a terrible spot right now, as they sit a daunting nine points behind Celtic after just 15 league games this season. Not only that but they also need to bring in a new manager, following the exit of Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The Dutch manager had guided them to a Scottish Cup triumph and Europa League final in the previous campaign.

Michael Beale is the frontrunner to be appointed the next manager of the Rangers, and it also looks like the Ibrox club will be looking to add to their ranks in January, in hopes of turning their season around.

Of course, Celtic have already started to make their moves. The Hoops have announced the signing of Yuki Kobayashi, while a move for Alistair Johnston also seems to be in the final stretch.

As reported by Football Insider, Rangers are plotting a January move for Bristol City’s Antoine Semenyo. The club are in the market for a forward.

Rangers are planning to make a move for the Celtic-linked player

Celtic have been linked with a move for Semenyo multiple times in the past, after he found some top form in Bristol City colours last season.

Nothing has materialised till now. With his contract running down at the Championship club though, it will be interesting to see how long he remains there for.

Celtic might themselves try to sign a striker in January, as the Hoops have struggled to finish their chances off in front of goal in recent times. But then again, one also has to point out that Semenyo himself has not been the most prolific in front of goal this season.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Semenyo has scored 4 goals in 18 appearances this season. Thus, one has to wonder whether Celtic are still even interested or not.
