Celtic have been linked with a number of players in recent times as it looks like the club are ready to add to their ranks in January. The Hoops are already nine points ahead of the Rangers in the title race but it is clear that they are not resting on their laurels. As a result, they have already announced the signing of Yuki Kobayashi. He was a starter for Vissel Kobe before this.

On the other hand, rumours have also emerged that the club are looking to sign Alistair Johnston, the Canadian international who starred against Belgium at the World Cup recently and is believed to be one of the best defenders in the MLS.

That is not the end of the rumours surrounding Celtic though. As reported by El Maestroo, Celtic are interested in signing Mohamed Magdy on a loan deal in January from Al Ahly, with the intention of a permanent move in the future.

It remains to be seen if the club do end up making a move or not. It does feel like Al Ahly do not have much of an interest in letting go of their star man though.

Celtic reportedly interested in signing Egyptian star

Magdy, more popularly known as Afsha, is someone who has been linked with Celtic several times in the past but a move has just never materialised till now.

The attacking midfielder, also capable of playing on the wings, has been one of the key players for Al Ahly for years and has made several appearances for the Egyptian national team as well.

It does not feel like he is the profile of player that Celtic would try to sign at the moment though, when there are other positions which could do with reinforcements. Of course, that picture would change if we see any attacking midfielders or wingers leave the club in the January window.
