Celtic must be delighted with how well they have done domestically this season. Ange Postecoglou’s side are leading the Rangers by nine points, who recently made the decision to part ways with Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The Hoops are also in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, where they will take on Kilmarnock at Hampden Park.

With such a margin between first and second, fans would normally fear the team taking their foot off the gas. Not under the management of Postecoglou though. The Australian lives his ‘We Never Stop’ mantra to a T and already has plans in place for the January transfer window.

This Celtic squad is the best in the country without a doubt, and they have proven that by continuing to produce results even with key players missing and the team not being on top form either.

But Postecoglou and company seem to have no plans to rest on their laurels or relax. As reported by Glasgow Times, the Celtic manager said about his plans for the January transfer window:

"“It’s fair to say there’s a couple lined up.“It’s how we’ve done things and how I believe we need to be.“It’s how I’m built. I don’t like rushing around last minute.“It’s not always the case. Matt O’Riley we did it in three days last year. We saw an opportunity and moved really quickly.“We need to be agile when we need to and when we don’t, we can methodically plan to make sure we get things done.“If we can get guys early, once January 1 hits they are already part of this football club.”"

Postecoglou confirms double Celtic transfer plan

We saw proof of how fast Celtic can move, when they announced the triple signing of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi even before the January transfer window had opened last season.

It is a great thing that Celtic identify their targets early and get deals done quickly. That means that there are no panic signings, and also other clubs do not get the time to swoop in, like Liverpool had done in the case of Ben Davies, when he was on the verge of agreeing a pre-contract agreement with the Hoops.

At the same time though, the O’Riley move showed that the club are ready to move quickly if the right opportunity presents itself.

Not too long ago, Celtic were known for dragging their heels when it came to transfer activity. It is impressive how quickly that has changed since the arrival of Postecoglou.
