Celtic fans must be enjoying how the season is turning out at Ibrox. There was a lot of positivity around Giovanni van Bronckhorst coming into the campaign, as the Dutch manager had not only delivered the Scottish Cup last season but also guided the club to an unlikely appearance in the UEFA Europa League final.

It is safe to say that the situation is far different just a few months on. Van Bronckhorst has been shown the exit door by the club already, as the Rangers find themselves sitting 9 points behind Celtic in the title race and are also coming off of the worst Champions League group stage campaign in the history of the competition.

As a result, unless the Rangers go on to bring back Steven Gerrard, this will be the third Ibrox manager that Postecoglou will face since his arrival last year. Not bad for someone who was expected to be gone by Christmas.

There seems to be further bad news for the Rangers in their search for a new manager though. As reported by the Daily RecordScottish Daily Mail report that Sean Dyche is “not in the running” for the job and “hasn’t put his name forward for consideration.”

Rangers suffer major blow in search for new manager while Celtic watch on

No matter who ends up as the next manager of the Ibrox club, it makes little difference to Celtic. If they do not drop more than 8 points till the end of the season they are guaranteed to defend their league title.

On the other hand, this could go two ways for the Rangers. One, they could improve off of a new manager bounce. Two, the new boss might take time to implement his ideas and the slide might continue for a while. Let’s see what happens.

When it comes to the names being mentioned for the job, Dyche is the one with the most top level experience, but it looks like he is not looking to be in the Ibrox hot seat.
