Kaka is one of the greatest players of the modern generation and once upon a time, he was up there with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, at the top of the footballing pyramid. Of course, those two have continued to dominate the game and remain very relevant to this day. On the other hand, the Brazilian is now retired. It is pretty clear though that he holds his goal against Celtic close to his heart.

It often feels like Kaka does not end up getting the credit that he deserves for how good he was, especially in the 2000s, when he was a key part of that legendary AC Milan team.

Kaka has always had nice things to say about Celtic and even hailed the atmosphere at Parkhead in the past. And now, he has talked about a goal that he scored against the Hoops.

As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, Kaka told AC Milan TV:

"“The ride was my characteristic, my trademark. We worked a lot on it at Milan. I liked to dribble progressively, with the ball at my feet towards goal: I scored a lot of goals by speeding towards goal. The one against Celtic is a goal that I really like, very difficult for the moment of the game; the emotion of scoring in extra time is truly special: 0-0, no we knew what could happen, there was anxiety, but… I manage to make that ride there. When I see the goalkeeper, I slip a little, but I manage to get the ball under his legs. It was one of the most important goals scored in the Milan. The fans… are just a few seconds away, but you feel them: thereit was the woooo of San Siro when I took the ball and this is a bonus, a gas, a turbo.”"

It is safe to say that while that goal might have been special for Kaka, Celtic fans will not have fond memories of it. But despite that, nobody can deny how great of a player that the AC Milan legend was during his prime.

Of course, he would end up leaving AC Milan for Real Madrid during the Spanish club’s legendary summer transfer window during which they also signed Ronaldo.

But in Spain, Kaka never managed to play his best football and would see his form decline badly. He would later return to AC Milan for a second stint as well, but by then, he was no longer the player of old.

The Brazilian is someone who does not get mentioned as often these days as he should. Those who saw him in his prime know how special he was at his best.
