Rangers find themselves without a manager once again. It was not too long ago that Steven Gerrard had left the club in the middle of the season in order to take the Aston Villa job. And now, they have parted ways with Giovanni van Bronckhorst, with the Ibrox side trailing Celtic by nine points in the league and also endured the worst ever Champions League group stage campaign in history this season.

There was a lot of positivity around the club and Van Bronckhorst coming into the season, as they had won the Scottish Cup and reached the Europa League final under the management of the Dutchman in the previous campaign. It is safe to say that had all evaporated over the course of the past few months.

Now, the interesting thing will be to see who the Rangers end up replacing Van Bronckhorst with, and shockingly, a Celtic legend is a shock candidate, at least in the eyes of the bookmakers.

As reported by The Scotsman, the bookmakers Betfair have listed Neil Lennon as an outsider for the Rangers job at 33/1.

No matter what the odds are for Lennon, it would be safe to say that there is little to no chance of it happening in reality.

Lennon’s last job was at Omonia Nicosia, where he did achieve some success but did not last a long time.

Before that, we all know about his second spell at Celtic, which produced quite a bit of silverware but ultimately ended in tears, as the Hoops failed in their attempt to win 10IAR and finished the campaign trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers. Lennon would step down in the middle of the season but by then, it was way too late.
