Celtic have lived Ange Postecoglou’s ‘We never stop’ mantra in the transfer market since the Australian’s arrival. The result is that they have been able to build up quite the impressive squad in such a short amount of time and it is unimaginable how paper thin this roster was less than a year ago, when the manager was being forced to play people out of position just to put out a decent Starting XI.

Celtic are not expected to stop in the upcoming January transfer window either, and could end up making some more additions to their already strong squad, as they look to put the title race beyond the Rangers, who are already nine points behind their Glasgow rivals.

One of the rumours that has been doing the rounds in recent times is that Celtic are set to sign Yuki Kobayashi, from Vissel Kobe, on a free transfer in January. His contract is believed to run out. And there seems to be a positive update regarding the situation.

As reported by the Daily Record, Japanese outlet Next report that a Vissel club representative had little optimism about the centre-back staying with the club and penning a new contract with them, as the unnamed executive said:

"“It’s hard to keep him now.”"

It looks like Kobayashi is expected to be on his way out of Vissel Kobe next year and that is positive news for Celtic.

The defender can be a very good fit for the Hoops and the style of football that Postecoglou wants his side to play.

Not only that but he is a left-footed centre-back as well, which will open up a lot of other interesting options for them at the back tactically. Let’s see if the move ends up happening or not but it is starting to feel likely.
