Another day, another win for Celtic. The Hoops have produced some late winners in recent weeks and this time around, they mounted a comeback to defeat Ross County 2-1, thanks to goals from David Turnbull and Sead Haksabanovic. The spirit of this team is truly special and is proving to be the difference between them and the Rangers, who continue to slip down the league table and now find themselves nine points behind the leaders.

They could only salvage a draw away at St Mirren, as more questions are being asked about the future of Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Ibrox.

It goes without saying that the Celtic supporters will be enjoying seeing their Glasgow rivals in so much trouble. Now, it remains to be seen if they end up making a change in the managerial hot seat during the World Cup break.

The Ibrox club do seem to have their eyes on targets though. As reported by Football Insider,  Rangers have made their former coach Michael Beale their top target to replace Van Bronckhorst if he is sacked.

Rangers have identified top target for next manager if Van Bronckhorst is sacked while Celtic continue to march ahead in the league

Beale has been at Ibrox as a coach in the past, and had an excellent reputation. Many even considered him to be the mastermind, when Steven Gerrard was at the club.

Beale is currently the manager of QPR in the English Championship and is believed to have made a positive impression in what is his first managerial job.

It must be said that whatever happens at Ibrox should not be a worry for Celtic. If they don’t drop more than 8 points, they are guaranteed to be crowned champions of Scotland come May. The onus is upon the Rangers to stop that. And that will be a mountain and a half to climb.
