One of Celtic’s strong suits since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou has been their recruitment. The club have done a wonderful job in identifying the right players and then getting deals for them over the line. It has led to signing stars like Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate and several others within such a short span of time. This was not always the case though, and not too long ago, the Hoops’ transfer activity was questionable at best.

Nadir Ciftci joined Celtic in the summer transfer window of 2015 after a great spell with Dundee United, where he registered 33 goals and 20 assists from 82 appearances in all competitions, according to stats from Transfermarkt.

His performances at Dundee United convinced The Hoops to bring in the forward for a transfer fee believed to be around £1.5 million. But the move did not work out as the Turkish youth international struggled badly at Parkhead, hitting just four goals during his time with the Glasgow giants.

Several loan moves followed before eventually parting ways with Celtic on permanent terms in 2018. His career has never really recovered since then though.

As reported by 67HailHail, Ciftci has signed for Greek Super League 2 side Makedonikos Neapolis, which is also his third team of 2022.

It is sad to see how Ciftci’s career has turned out to be honest and if things don’t improve soon, it would not be a surprise to see him hang up his boots for good in the not too distant future.

The Turkish striker showed great promise early on in his career, which convinced Celtic to make a move for him, but has never found his form since then. He is still just 30 years of age and let’s see if he can catch a second wind in Greece.
