Celtic grinded out another narrow win, 2-1 over Motherwell, to maintain their 7-point lead at the top of the Premiership table, with the Rangers managing to defeat Hearts at Ibrox. It was not classic Angeball by any stretch of the imagination but the points is what matter more than anything at this point of the season, and the Hoops are picking them up.

Yet, one would not expect Ange Postecoglou to be a happy man following the game. The manager has already sounded annoyed in the past when talking about how VAR has been implemented since its introduction in the Scottish game. And we saw another prime example of that today.

Jota scored a sublime dinked goal in the second half, from a brilliant pass from Kyogo. Yet, it was ruled out for offside. The bizarre thing is we are still not sure if it was offside or not.

Not only was it a very narrow decision, but the camera angle that was used was from the opposite end of the pitch. Yes, it could possibly have been offside, but the angle that was used to determine it left fans scratching their heads.

Postecoglou won’t be happy despite Celtic win over Motherwell

It has not been long since VAR has come into the Scottish game and it would be safe to say that most Celtic fans have already had enough of it.

The fact of the matter is that when you are scratching off a goal, and those are what fans come to see, then you have to be completely certain that there is a reason for it. How can that be if there is no side angle present to determine the offside call and the one used is from the other half?

Hopefully Postecoglou will bring up the matter in his post-match interview, like what he did in the previous match.
