Celtic’s approach to transfer windows has completely changed since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. Not only are they spreading their net much wider, signing players from Japan and Argentina, but they are also doing it with an incredible efficiency. That is huge progress for a club who had a reputation of dragging their heels in the past, which saw them lose out on players like John McGinn, Ivan Toney and others.

The club have almost completely revamped their squad since the summer of 2021, but it appears that just like on the pitch, they never stop in the transfer market as well.

Celtic are expected to make further additions to their squad in the January transfer window, and it looks like they are set to make them early as well, with plans already in place.

As reported by Glasgow Times, Postecoglou confirmed that the bulk of Celtic’s January transfer work has been done, as he said to the media:

"“A couple of weeks ago, we sort of did our (transfer) planning. The bulk of the work’s been done.“What this time gives me is a little bit of opportunity just to plan for the rest of this year and probably the next summer window.”"

Celtic fans excited by Postecoglou’s transfer claim as we head towards January

Postecoglou is someone who has always seemed to have a clear idea of the players he wants to bring in and the club have done a great job in getting those deals over the line.

That means that there are no panic moves going on at Celtic, which increases the chances of mistakes exponentially. Perhaps that is why the club have such a good transfer record since the arrival of Postecoglou. Just last season, they were able to discover stars like Kyogo, Jota, Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and several others in the course of two transfer windows. This summer also, it feels like they pulled off a masterstroke by bringing in Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan.

It will be interesting to see what kind of players Celtic end up signing in January. Strong rumours have suggested that Yuki Kobayashi is someone who will be joining the Hoops.
