It is safe to say that Celtic have their fair share of world famous supporters. The most well known of them is probably Rod Stewart, a rock and pop legend. But he is not the one by far. In fact, one of them performed on stage in Switzerland in a Celtic shirt, before the Hoops took on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Lewis Capaldi was headlining a night of the Baloise Session Festival in Basel, Switzerland. And he took to the stage in a black Adidas Celtic training sweatshirt. It is not the first time that he has shown his love for the Hoops in public either, having played a rendition of “It’s a grand old team” in front of a crowd of 20,000 people at the O2 Arena not too long ago.
Capaldi is best known for his smash hit Someone You Loved, the official music video of which currently has amassed more than 500 million views on YouTube alone.
It earned him a well deserved Grammy Award nomination, although he did not end up winning on the night. It did earn the Scotsman a win at the Brit Awards.

Born in Glasgow, Capaldi has never made his love for Celtic a secret and it was no surprise to see him showing his support for the club, in his own way, before the big match against Real Madrid.
He must have been left disappointed with the result on the night though, as Celtic lost 5-1 against the European champions in their own backyard.
It was a combination of questionable refereeing decisions, bad defending and Real Madrid’s world-class quality that led to the heavy defeat in the Spanish capital. Jota’s stunning free-kick did give the fans something to cheer about on the night though, even if it was just a consolation goal.
