Rangers managed to get a 4-1 win over Aberdeen to cut the gap at the top to one point even though Celtic have a game in hand. The Hoops will take to the pitch today, away in Livingston, to take on David Martindale’s side, who must be riding high on confidence after having drawn at Ibrox last weekend.

Thus, it is will interesting to see how the game goes. Almondvale Stadium is a place where the Hoops have struggled in the past and they can take nothing for granted going into this weekend’s game.

Normally, you would expect the Rangers players to have their eyes on this game. But recently, James Tavernier had talked about how the Ibrox side couldn’t focus on Celtic. And now, John Lundstram seems to have pretty much backed those claims.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Lundstram, who found the back of the net against Aberdeen, said:

"“Celtic have never been spoken about.“Not once in our dressing room.“We don’t need to speak about Celtic. When we’re not playing Celtic there’s no need for us to speak about them.“We’re four points behind Celtic off our own back – nothing to do with Celtic.“They beat us 4-0 away from home because we didn’t perform.“It’s on us – it’s nothing to do with them.”"

Lundstram makes bizarre claim about Celtic

It’s quite the theory that the Rangers are four points behind Celtic, yet it has nothing to do with the Hoops, just the Ibrox side not being able to perform.

One must also point out that Celtic defeated the Rangers by a convincing 4-0 scoreline in the first Glasgow Derby of the season, at Parkhead. Of course, one would also remember their 3-0 victory from the previous campaign as well.

In fact, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been able to win against Ange Postecoglou’s side only on one solitary occasion till now, while the Hoops have come out on top three times against their Glasgow rivals. One game ended in a draw.

Well, the best thing for the Hoops right now would be to simply focus on themselves as well and continue piling up the wins. Four points is a decent gap and yet can be overturned in a very short time as well. The next thing for Postecoglou’s side to do is come out of Livingston with all three points.
