Celtic might not have enjoyed a great Champions League campaign in terms of results but there were a lot of players who did impress, and must have caught the attention of clubs around Europe with their performances. Now, it remains to be seen if that leads to potential transfer interest in the near future.

One man who did well for himself in Europe is Reo Hatate. While he might not have been spectacular throughout the Champions League campaign, he did show what he is capable of, with that pass against Real Madrid standing out as a particular highlight.

It was Hatate’s first taste of this level of football and he definitely did a decent job. It was just earlier this year that he arrived at Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale, and since then, he has become a regular starter for the Hoops.

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Anthony Joseph would not be shocked if clubs headed to the negotiating table and attempted to sign Hatate in the coming months, as he said:

"“It wouldn’t surprise me after going out of the Champions League and let’s see how the World Cup goes.“The World Cup and playing in the Champions League will be a huge thing for the likes of Hatate, Josip Juranovic and Jota.”"

It is safe to say that Hatate is an important part of the Celtic side right now and has already had some big moments at the club. Yet, at the same time, it also feels like we are yet to see the best of him and have only seen glimpses of what he is capable of.

If Hatate can find the consistency and perform at his best throughout the course of the season, he could very well be the best player in all of Scotland. He does have some consistency issues at the moment.

Let’s see what the future holds for Hatate, but it is safe to say that Celtic fans will be hoping that he remains at the club.
