Celtic have shown a tremendous eye for talent since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou. The Australian manager is believed to be the driving force behind the club’s transfer business in recent times. Of course, there have been a few moves which have not worked out, but overall, the Hoops have been very successful with their recent recruitment, discovering stars like Jota, Kyogo, Cameron Carter-Vickers and others.
One such transfer success story is that of Matt O’Riley. Fans were unsure whether he would be a good signing or not, considering he was playing League One football at MK Dons before joining Celtic.
It has not taken O’Riley long to prove the doubters wrong though, as he has gone on to become one of Celtic’s most important players and a regular starter.
In fact, his performances have resulted in him being linked with clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and others. While speaking with GIVEMESPORT, Anthony Joseph said about O’Riley:
"“Clubs are going to be all over him, and knowing that he started his career in England, will try to bring him back to England.“So, I can only speculate, but I think there’ll be a lot of Premier League interest for O’Riley arriving as well.”"
Sky Sports man makes worrying claim about Celtic star and potential Premier League interest in him
It is safe to say that O’Riley is expected to be a man in demand, whenever the transfer window reopens. And if Celtic did decide to part ways, they could fetch a transfer fee in the region of £15 million and £20 million for the Danish youth international.
One interesting thing about O’Riley is that he has made very calculated moves throughout his career, leaving Fulham to join MK Dons, in search of first-team football.
Thus, if he believes that Celtic is the best place for him to develop then it is very possible that he could decide to stay at Parkhead, even if there is interest in him from Premier League clubs. Let’s see what the future holds for the talented midfielder.
