All Celtic fans are keen to see the squad being strengthened during transfer windows and the club have done just that since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou. But at the same time, everyone likes to see the money being spent wisely too, and there are a few players at the club already, who could save the Hoops quite a bit of it in the upcoming years.

There’s always talk of the need to strengthen the defence. At the moment there is decent cover in the centre-back position with loan signing, Moritz Jenz, stepping in to fill Carl Starfelt’s place while the Swede is out injured.

Stephen Welsh is another centre-back at the club while we’ve now seen the terrific Cameron Carter-Vickers return from injury and take up the armband in Callum McGregor’s absence. Yet, there are some question marks about the position, as the club have looked shaky at times.

They might have the solution to their problems already at Parkhead though. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Anthony Joseph said about Bosun Lawal:

"“I’ve certainly heard a lot of good things about Bosun Lawal.“I think there’s a lot of people within the club who are very impressed with the progress he’s making.”"

Celtic might have solution to defensive problems at club already

Lawal was signed from Watford last summer. That could turn into a superb deal if he can make a breakthrough into the first-team and it is looking like he has all the traits to do that, and has been impressing immensely at the Celtic B level.

Lawal joined the first-team at the preseason camp in Austria and has been called up to train with them over recent weeks while the Hoops’ injuries at the back meant more cover was needed. He certainly seems to be one that Postecoglou and the coaching team have got their eye on.

Celtic’s recent record with bringing through youngsters into the first-team has not been great and if they fail to do so with someone that has the quality of Lawal, it could be a worrying sign.
