Rangers just continue to struggle, and their 1-1 draw vs Livingston meant that they are now four points behind Celtic in the league table. Not just that, but it feels like their fans have turned on the manager as well, as there were audible boos at both half-time and full-time in the recent game at Ibrox.

The Ibrox club’s performances and results have been shaky for quiet some time. Celtic had handed them a lifeline to get back into the title race when they lost 2-0 at the hands of St Mirren, cutting the gap from five to two points, but now it is back up to four, giving Ange Postecoglou’s side room for error.

James Tavernier has not been the most successful of Rangers captains by any stretch of the imagination, when you see his record of delivering titles.

As reported by The Herald, Tavernier said after the draw against Livingston which saw the Rangers fall further behind Celtic in the title race:

"“We can’t focus on them (Celtic), we just have to concentrate on our own performances. And we move on from that.”"

Interestingly, Celtic have not been in a good run of form either. But encouragingly for them, they seem to have discovered their mojo in front of goal once again.

Their four goals against Livingston meant that they now have scored 14 times over the previous 3 games. That is brilliant, after Postecoglou’s side went through a run of 7 games when they could score just 6 goals.

On the other hand, it is hard to remember the last time that the Rangers put in a statement performance and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s future at the club seems to be hanging by a thread at the moment. If the results don’t turnaround quickly, the Ibrox side might have no other choice but to show him the exit door, despite the Dutch manager guiding them to the Europa League final and Scottish Cup just last season.
