Despite his undeniable achievements at Celtic, Brendan Rodgers is not remembered fondly by the club’s supporters because of the manner of his exit. Even though he was a boyhood fan of the Hoops, the Northern Irishman left in the middle of the 2018/19 campaign in order to join Leicester City.

It goes without saying that that did not go down well with Celtic fans and left a bitter taste in their mouths. Unsurprisingly, Rodgers often does not get the credit that he deserves for turning the club into the treble-winning machine, who would eventually go on to win twelve straight domestic titles.

Rodgers has been a success at Leicester City as well, leading them to back-to-back fifth place finishes and winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield. But right now, he finds himself in deep trouble as the Foxes are in the relegation zone of the Premier League table after 10 games.

As reported by Leicestershire Live, Leicester City supporters booed at the final whistle of their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend, and then unfurled a banner that read: “Board – the time for action is now!” That was then followed by a smattering of chants calling for Rodgers to be sacked.

Could the former Celtic manager be shown the exit door by Leicester City?

Leicester City have shown patience with Rodgers till now. There are of course a couple of obvious reasons behind that.

Firstly, it is undeniable that the Foxes have not strengthened their squad in recent times. They made only one notable signing in the summer, Wout Faes, while seeing key stars like Wesley Fofana and Kasper Schmeichel leave.

The second is the fact that Rodgers is a proven success at Leicester City, which makes it easier to keep the faith that he will be able to turn things around. But if things don’t change quickly, the club might be left with no other choice but to show the former Celtic boss the exit door.
