Coming into the game, Celtic knew that they were in the middle of a terrible run of form, winning just two of their past seven games. Even more worrying though was the fact that they were struggling badly to find the back of the net. They had scored just six times in those seven matches – a statistic that you would not associate with Ange Postecoglou’s free-scoring side.

It is safe to say that the Bhoys found their scoring boots against Hibernian, as they walked out of Parkhead with a 6-1 victory. James Forrest scored a hattrick while Giorgos Giakoumakis got himself a brace. And Daizen Maeda got his name on the score sheet as well, after having faced a lot of criticism for some of his recent displays.

Celtic fans would be hoping that the floodgates have opened and they will be the free-scoring side that we know and love once again moving forward.

Hibernian manager, Lee Johnson, seems to have been very impressed with what he saw from the Celtic players. As reported by the Daily Record, he said while speaking to the media after the game:

"“I think the lessons that you can take from it are big. The detail, and the standards.“I look at the Japanese players and I think ‘wow, you are so dynamic, your squat, you are powerful and athletic’. If I was a player I would be knocking on their door asking for a shirt, saying please tell me what you do.“Please tell me what you do every day. How do you wake up, what do you eat for breakfast? How do you stretch, do you go to the gym for three hours and what weights do you do?”"

Hibernian actually came into the game riding on a high. They were sitting at third on the points table. On the other hand, Celtic were on a bad run.

Thus, there were many people who believed that Hibernian could actually take something out of this game if they performed at their best.

It would be safe to say that Celtic were able to blow Hibs off the pitch on Saturday and showed the gap that exists between these two sides. Now, it remains to be seen if they are well and truly back to their brilliant best, or if this was a one-off performance.
