It goes without saying that the mood amongst the Celtic support has not been great over the past day. A 2-0 defeat against RB Leipzig meant that their hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 are over with two group stage games still to go. The Hoops put in another decent display on the night but once again, their finishing was terrible and they could not take a galore of chances in the first half, before falling away after the break.
Well, it looks like the Rangers might have taken it upon themselves to lift the mood amongst the Celtic fans and ended up conceding seven against Liverpool at Ibrox.
Liverpool have been in poor form this season and coming into the game, there was a good portion of the Rangers’ support believed that they could get something out of this game.
What they did get out of this game was a 7-1 defeat, not something that they would have seen coming when Scott Arfield put them ahead in the 17th minute. Mohamed Salah scored a hattrick while Roberto Firmino got a brace. Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot found the back of the net as well in a goals galore for Liverpool.
Rangers fans meltdown as Liverpool put 7 past them, just a day after Celtic’s Champions League elimination
It goes without saying that the Rangers fans were not delighted with their side’s display on the day or the fact that they allowed seven goals past them against a struggling Liverpool side and let it be known on Twitter:
I've held off but it's time for change.

We're out of our depth at this level but that is worst Rangers performance I've seen in my life.
Manager can't survive that and if you let him then what message does it send to the players who think it's acceptable
Can't believe I'm gonna say this, cos I've always backed a manager, but Gio has to go after a result like that

While Celtic fans can claim that their team has been competitive in the competition, even against the European champions in Real Madrid, there is no chance that the Rangers fans could say the same.
Their side has conceded 16 goals in their first four group stage games, while scoring just once till now.
