Marco Rose has a good record as a manager against Celtic. His RB Leipzig side got the better of the Hoops in Germany last midweek by a 3-1 scoreline while seeing a couple of goals chalked off as well. And if they can get all three points in Glasgow as well, it will pretty much end the hopes of Ange Postecoglou’s side of making the last 16 of the competition.
Celtic have put in some solid displays in the Champions League this season and not looked out of place at all. Their finishing has been terrible though and as a result, they have just one point to show from their first three group stage games.
If they are to get the better of RB Leipzig in Glasgow, they will need to finish off their chances. Otherwise, they can expect a rough night against a side that has attacking talents like Christopher Nkunku, Andre Silva, Timo Werner and Dominik Szoboszlai.
One thing that Celtic can use to their advantage on the day though is the incredible Parkhead atmosphere that awaits them. There is no doubt that the fans will be up for it. And Rose knows that as well. As reported by the Daily Record, the RB Leipzig manager said:
"“We can expect a great stadium with great fans. We have to accept this atmosphere with maximum confidence and bring our performance to the pitch.”"
Celtic have to make the most of the Parkhead atmosphere vs RB Leipzig
In the past, we have seen RB Leipzig fold under the pressure in front of a Glasgow crowd. They lost 3-1 against the Rangers at Ibrox last season in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.
Another thing that could be playing into Celtic’s hands is the fact that RB Leipzig have not managed to win a single game away from home this season till now.
Thus, there is certainly an opportunity to make something happen here and create another special European memory. Are the Hoops are up for it though? That is the big question.
