Celtic were handed another defeat in the Champions League and they failed to find the back of the net as well, as RB Leipzig walked out of Parkhead with a 2-0 win. Thus ended the Hoops’ hopes of making the knockout rounds of the competition as well, and their best hope now is beating Shakhtar Donetsk at home and then getting something out of the game at Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid, and even then, it might not be enough to make the Europa League.

It is safe to say that this is not the position that the fans would have expected to find the club in, when they went toe to toe with Real Madrid in the first half of the opening game.

A major reason for their recent struggles is also the fact that they are missing key players through injury. And Celtic suffered another scare on the night vs RB Leipzig when Liel Abada was forced off with what looked like a knee injury.

But thankfully, it looks like it is nothing serious and the Israeli winger should not be looking at a spell on the sidelines. As reported by Glasgow Live, Ange Postecoglou told BT Sport:

"“I don’t think it is anything serious. I think it is more of a dead leg than anything. So hopefully nothing too serious.”"

Celtic handed Abada injury boost coming out of game vs RB Leipzig

Celtic cannot afford any more injuries at this point of time. Key players like Callum McGregor and Carl Starfelt are already out.

And it is unclear whether Jota is in line for time out of action as well, after he was not even included on the bench in the game against RB Leipzig.

It remains to be seen if Abada is available for the next game moving forward, because Celtic are certainly short of options on the wing right now. And there are serious question marks over whether Daizen Maeda and James Forrest are good enough to be starters on current form.
