A number of Celtic stars have shined under the management of Ange Postecoglou over the past year or so. Combine that with the fact that a number of players from the Scottish Premiership have gone on to enjoy great careers abroad in recent years, and it feels like only a matter of time before clubs from down south come calling for the services of a number of the Hoops’ best players.

One of them is most definitely Giorgos Giakoumakis, who is fresh off of scoring a 95th minute winner against St Johnstone at the weekend.

The Greek striker has proven to be an absolute goal machine for Celtic in recent times and the only area of his game that can be questioned is the fact that he is a bit injury prone, and has had to spend several spells out on the sidelines during his stint at Parkhead.

Now, it looks like there is a lot of interest in Giakoumakis and as tweeted out by Giannis Chorianopoulos, clubs from the Premier League and the Championship are continuously scouting the Celtic star.

It is safe to say that Giakoumakis did not enjoy a great start at Celtic after making the move from VVV-Venlo last summer.

He spent pretty much the first half of the season out injured and many fans had written him off as a transfer flop.

He would completely turn his Parkhead career around after the turn of the year though and has been absolutely superb since then.

In fact, one could argue that he was Celtic’s most important player in their charge for the title in the second half of the previous campaign, when Kyogo was out injured and he carried the scoring burden on his shoulders.
