RB Leipzig just proved too good for Celtic in Germany. The Hoops did break their hoodoo in front of goal with Jota scoring. It was not enough though, as the hosts scored thrice. Christopher Nkunku, who was superb on the night, got his name on the scoresheet while Andre Silva scored a brace. And on another day, they could have scored more.

At the same time though, Celtic showed enough to suggest that with the right adjustments, they could actually give RB Leipzig a run for their money in Glasgow.

RB Leipzig might have finally opened their points tally in the Champions League this season vs Celtic but they suffered a massive blow as well, as Peter Gulacsi was forced off the pitch early in the first half.

Now, as reported by RB Leipzig’s official website, Gulacsi suffered a serious knee injury in the game against Celtic. The German side’s captain sustained an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee and will be out for a lengthy period of time.

Thus, Gulasci might not even feature again this season considering the seriousness of his issue. It is never good to see a player get injured and we can only hope that he recovers fully and is back on the pitch as soon as possible.

On the other hand, coming to the upcoming game between Celtic and RB Leipzig at Parkhead, the Hoops will know that anything other than a win will virtually end their hopes of making it to the knockout phase of the competition and would even be a blow to their chances of finishing third in their group.

Let’s see if Ange Postecoglou’s side are good enough to rise up to the plate. But before facing RB Leipzig, they have a St Johnstone test to navigate through this weekend.
