Celtic do not have momentum on their side at the moment. They have managed to win only one game out of their last five, while losing three and drawing the other one. That is not the kind of record that they will be proud and perhaps even more worrying have been some of their performances, which have not been up to the mark.

Their latest setback came away in Germany, as they lost 3-1 against RB Leipzig, to go bottom of their Champions League group.

One of the key reasons behind their recent downturn in form is the number of players that they are missing at the back, with both first-choice centre-backs in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt out injured.

Moritz Jenz, who is on loan from Lorient, has stepped in alongside Stephen Welsh but has not looked the most impressive. Earlier on in the campaign, the German defender had looked brilliant when partnering Carter-Vickers, but without the American international to compliment him, he has looked shaky. Despite that though, it is clear that he has bought in completely to Ange Postecoglou’s ideas.

Celtic defender’s comments should delight the fans

As reported by The Herald, Jenz said:

"“It’s the way we want to play.“We want to play brave football and be exciting.“Sometimes things are going to happen in these moments like they did against Leipzig. But you have to have the courage to play these passes in these situations.“Unfortunately, there was one like that, but we are going to play like in the next game, then the next game and every game like that until the end of the season. That’s how we play.”"

One of the biggest strengths of Postecoglou as a manager is how well he has gotten his players to buy into the style of football that he wants them to play.

Despite their poor run in recent weeks, it is pretty clear that the dressing room is united and focused on getting the season back on track.

It is not just the players who have bought into Postecoglou’s ideas but the fans as well. Alarm bells would started ringing for most other Celtic managers if the club had one win from five. Not for Postecoglou though, as everybody seems relaxed about the situation.
