RB Leipzig are set to face Celtic in the Champions League in midweek in what is a must win game for the Bundesliga champions. They have lost both of their games in the competition till now and if they cannot get all three points from their home tie against the Hoops, then their chances of qualifying to the next phase will be in serious trouble.

Thus, RB Leipzig must have been hoping to put all their focus into getting a win vs Celtic and they prepared for the contest in style as well, by beating VfL Bochum 4-0 with Timo Werner and Christopher Nkunku scoring braces.

But the discussion around RB Leipzig at the moment is no longer about the upcoming game vs Celtic but instead on the future of two of their biggest stars.

As reported by The Telegraph, Chelsea hope to sign Josko Gvardiol alongside Nkunku.

It is believed that Chelsea are ready to activate the release clause of around £52.6 million for Nkunku and are looking to do the same for Gvardiol as well, whose release clause is believed to be around £43.6 million.

It is safe to say that all this speculation around the futures of Nkunku and Gvardiol cannot be good news for RB Leipzig, heading into their big game against Celtic.

While the moves are not expected to take place anytime soon and the players are likely to remain at RB Leipzig for the season, even then, it must be hard not to lose focus with so much media frenzy surrounding the situation.

Of course, this does open up the opportunity for Celtic to take advantage of the situation, travel to Germany and hopefully come out with a good result vs RB Leipzig. Even a draw would be great.
