After the tremendous job that he has done at Celtic, Ange Postecoglou seems to be a name in demand amongst Premier League clubs. Under his management, the Hoops went from the team that had finished trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in the 2020/21 campaign to Premiership and League Cup champions in the following one.

It is not just his success that has caught the eye though, but the style of football that the team have played as well as the connection that he has been able to build with the Celtic fans. It is hard to imagine that anybody could have done a better job.

Of course, with success comes attention. Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City have been recently linked with Postecoglou. And now, another Premier League club seem to have their eyes on him.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked Bruno Lage. And as reported by The Telegraph (via The Scotsman), the Celtic boss ‘has been discussed as an option’. Postecoglou seems to be among the names of potential replacements drawn up by Wolves.

Wolves are in a pretty bad position right now. They are in the relegation zone, sitting at 18th and they have actually played a game more than both teams beneath them in the table – Nottingham Forest and Leicester City.

Thus, it is safe to say that if Postecoglou did end up at Wolves, he would be a in battle to avoid relegation. And it is hard to imagine that he would be interested in that over managing Celtic in the Champions League and competing for titles domestically.

It is safe to say that the name of Postecoglou will continue to do the rounds of the rumour mill, every time a Premier League club sacks a manager this season.
