Celtic will be looking to bounce back this weekend when they take Motherwell. The Hoops are coming off of a shock defeat at the hands of St Mirren in their previous league game, losing 2-0 away at Paisley. On the other hand, they have not won any of their previous three matches, and have managed to find the back of the net just once over that period of time, which was also an own goal to top it off.

Thus, Celtic have not been on a good run of form and the international break did come at the right time for them.

But unfortunately, it came with its problems as well and the name of Giorgos Giakoumakis has been added to the list of those who are not available due to injury, as the Greek striker will be missing the game against Motherwell this weekend. He is not the only one though.

As tweeted out by Alison Conroy, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt & Giakoumakis will miss tomorrow’s game v Motherwell.

Celtic have been handed a triple injury blow for the game vs Motherwell

It is safe to say that all three players will be a big miss for Celtic against Motherwell and it also means that we will most probably once again see the duo of Moritz Jenz and Stephen Welsh in the heart of defence.

The duo were not impressive at all vs St Mirren and could not cope with the physicality on the occasion, as the Hoops conceded more goals in that game than they had in all the league games combined before that.

Thus, one can only hope that Jenz and Welsh will do better this time around than they did away in Paisley. Otherwise, Celtic could be in for a long game against Motherwell. Not the ideal situation to be in.
