Celtic will be keen to bounce back from their shock defeat vs St Mirren in their previous game in the league, which was a 2-0 loss away at Paisley. It was a result that nobody could have seen coming, especially since the Hoops had won every domestic game ahead of that game. It means though that their lead at the top was cut down to just two points, with the Rangers making up some ground.

Of course, there are Celtic fans who are a bit concerned about the run that the club are on at the moment. They have not won in the three games that have followed the 4-0 victory vs the Rangers in the first Glasgow Derby of the season.

They have lost twice and drawn once, and perhaps even more concerning is their terrible form in front of goal. Celtic have managed to find the back of the net on just one occasion over these past three games. And that too was an own goal. Thus, they need to get it going soon.

Motherwell star, Matt Penney, on loan from Ipswich Town, appears to believe that they can get a result against Celtic this weekend, even though they are coming off of a 3-0 defeat vs Hearts themselves. As reported by the Daily Record, the loanee said:

"“With the way we played against Hearts, if we can sort those details out there’s no reason why we can’t go to Celtic and put a performance on there, and put our foot down on the league.“It will be a great game for the neutral, but with the boys in the changing room and the manager there’s no reason why we can’t go there and get a result.”"

It is safe to say that that is a confident claim from the player even though his side are coming off of a big loss in their previous game. It will be interesting to see if they can back it up on the pitch the next time.

Motherwell are not a team in good form themselves and have not won in their past three games in the league.

Celtic fans will be hoping that the Hoops will have enough in the tank to get a win at home vs Motherwell to get things back on track.
