This international break has not been kind to Celtic and has only been a cause of headache for Ange Postecoglou. Giorgos Giakoumakis of Greece, Daizen Maeda of Japan and Sead Haksabanovic of Montenegro, have all picked up injury concerns while away with their national teams. And one of the Hoops’ players had fallen ill as well.
The player in question is none other than Greg Taylor, who is enjoying a tremendous run of form at the moment and is quickly becoming one of Celtic’s most important players. Thus, the Hoops will not want him to miss any games.
As reported by the Daily Record, a sickness bug has hit the Scotland camp. Stuart Armstrong, Greg Taylor, Ryan Fraser and several backroom staff have all been hit.
But interestingly, Taylor seems to have recovered in time and has been included in the line up for the game between Scotland and Ukraine. It goes without saying that that is great news for the national team as well as Celtic.
Celtic handed massive fitness boost out of international break
It is safe to say that there has not been much good news for Celtic coming out of this international break.
So it is great to finally hear something positive and see that the illness has not kept Taylor out of action for any considerable length of time.
Thus, one would expect him to be fit and featuring when the Hoops take to the pitch this Saturday as well. And they do need him, as he has been in great form in these past several months.
Taylor looks like a player transformed under the management of Postecoglou. For years, he had struggled to hold down his spot in the first-team, but now, he seems to be one of the first names on the team sheet, which is quite the turnaround.
