Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou, has admitted that he grew up idolising Kenny Dalglish and had posters of him all over his wall. So it would be safe to assume that the Scotsman’s word would hold some weight when it comes to the former Australian national team boss.

Dalglish has given his take on the entire Postecoglou to Leicester City situation, with Brendan Rodgers in trouble as the Foxes sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with a solitary point.

Thus, some rumours have suggested that Leicester City could look towards Glasgow to fill their managerial seat once again. Of course, Celtic fans will remember Rodgers leaving the club in the middle of the season to join the Foxes.

This time around though, it feels that the situation would be different as Postecoglou has always maintained that he is delighted to be at Parkhead and managing at the Champions League level, while a move to Leicester City could come with a relegation battle. And Dalglish feels such a switch would make very little sense.

Dalglish sends Postecoglou to Leicester City message amidst Celtic exit rumours

Dalglish wrote in his column in The Sunday Post:

"Ange has been at the centre of some speculation, due the excellent job he has been doing at Celtic. Before Graham Potter left Brighton for Chelsea recently, by all accounts Ange was a name on Albion’s short-list.Now he still being mentioned in England as a contender for the Leicester City job, should there be a parting of the ways with Brendan Rodgers. For me, though, that is a non-starter. Why would Ange want to leave Celtic to go there? Why would he leave a Champions League club for a team that may well end up fighting a relegation battle in the Premier League? So I would doubt that Ange would have a club such as Leicester City on his radar. He has rebuilt Celtic. The fans love him, and he loves the fans. It would take something special to break up that relationship. If he was linked with a top-six club down south, then that may well be a different story. That kind of thing would be a potential game-changer."

Dalglish has pretty much hit the nail on the head here. It makes little sense for Postecoglou to leave Celtic in order to join Leicester City, if the opportunity was indeed on the table.

We have already seen him being linked with Brighton & Hove Albion as well, and as long as the Hoops continue to perform at a high level and win trophies, Postecoglou will have opportunities to move down South when he wants a different challenge.

Yes, if a top six club came in, that is a different story. That is an opportunity of a lifetime that is handed to few and most Celtic fans would understand Postecoglou leaving in those circumstances, but not to fight a relegation battle with Leicester City.
