Celtic have a good set of players who represent their national teams. Thus, every international break comes with an added risk of fatigue and injuries, and the fans hope that the club is able to avoid them as much as possible. In this regard, they have been handed a boost by the Australian national team.

When Ange Postecoglou arrived as the manager of Celtic last summer, many fans expected him to sign a number of Australian players. That has not been the case at all. In fact, the only Socceroos star that the Hoops have signed under him is Aaron Mooy.

Of course, it must be pointed out that Tom Rogic had regained his place in the team last season while Riley McGree had been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead before he decided to complete a transfer to Middlesbrough instead.

Mooy has been the star man for the Australian national team recently. But as tweeted out by Joey Lynch, he along with several others have all returned to their respective clubs and will not be taking part in the upcoming game vs New Zealand:

While no clear reason for the early release appears to have been given, this is believed to be a strong indication that these players, including Mooy, have already booked their place on the flight to Qatar later this year to take part in the World Cup.

Thus, it might make sense for Australia to give a chance to a few other players and see if any of them are able to play their way into the World Cup squad as well.

While Mooy has been great for Australia in recent times, his performances for Celtic have not been that good and hopefully he will improve soon.
