It has never really been a secret that Andy Robertson grew up as a Celtic fan. In fact, he was part of the club’s youth set up at one point of time and the Hoops infamously let him go because of his apparent lack of size at that time. Of course, it is a decision that the club and the supporters have surely regretted over the years.

Robertson has not only gone on to become the Scotland national team captain but he has also established himself as a Liverpool legend, proving to be a key part in the club’s revival under the management of Jurgen Klopp, winning every trophy possible in recent years.

Still just 28 years of age, it is safe to say that Robertson still has plenty of football left in the tank and one can expect him to be at Liverpool for years to come. There is even a real possibility that he could end up ending his career there.

But then, he recently spoke openly about his dream of playing for Celtic as well, and it looks like that was not taken too well by Peter Grant. As reported by Glasgow Live, he told Go Radio:

"“Many a people have had that dream. I spoke about when Steven Gerrard kept talking about being the manager at Liverpool while he was the manager at Rangers, I don’t like that. Your club should be your focus.“Football has a funny way of kicking you. I think you’ve just got to concentrate on what you are doing just now and get back playing well with Liverpool, be successful there.“At the end of the day if he ends up playing for Celtic then fantastic. Me, as a Liverpool supporter, you are not talking about someone at 35 coming to the end, he is 28.“Your concentration level should be on your club. We can all have dreams.“But certain things you have got to keep to yourself.”"

To be honest, it was not really a revelation when Robertson talked about his dream to play for Celtic.

It has been an open secret for years and it does not feel like there was anything wrong about him opening up about his dream to be really honest.

Robertson has done it all, at least at club level for Liverpool, and he was not really pushing for an exit either. He was just talking about his boyhood dream to play for Celtic. Whether he will make the move to Parkhead someday or not remains a different story altogether.
