Ange Postecoglou has gotten a lot of credit for the signings that Celtic have made during his time as the manager of the club. But one thing that he simply does not get enough recognition for is improving the players who were already at Parkhead. And one such player is Greg Taylor.

Celtic have had a tough time finding a replacement for Kieran Tierney all these years, since he left the club in the summer of 2019 in order to join Arsenal in a Scottish record transfer. But finally, it looks like the Hoops have managed to find someone in Taylor who has nailed down the spot in the team.

He has been brilliant playing at left-back under the management of Postecoglou and has actually kept summer signing, Alexandro Bernabei, out of the team till now. That is impressive considering the transfer fee that Celtic shelled out to sign him.

One man who seems to have been very impressed with Taylor’s performances at left-back for Celtic is Tierney himself. As reported by Football Scotland, the Arsenal star said about his international teammate:

"“Aye, brilliant. Inverted full-back, that’s how we play down there. I watch him every week, trying to take tips from him.“It’s brilliant to see him doing so well because he’s a great guy. I’m really close to him, I speak to him a lot. So yeah, I’m buzzing for him.“We watch each other’s games, always, and text each other as well. It’s a new role for me and it’s a role where he’s really comfortable in. It’s great to watch him and he’s been one of Celtic’s best players this season.”"

Taylor has been fantastic for Celtic during the time of Postecoglou as manager

Taylor deserves immense credit for turning his Celtic career around because one has to remember that he did not have a good start at the club at all.

Celtic had initially brought in Boli Bolingoli in the summer of 2019 and then added Taylor to their ranks late on as well, but neither of them was particularly impressive and as a result, Jonny Hayes ended up playing a lot as the left-back that season.

His second season for the Hoops was nothing to write home about either and then he would suffer an injury last time around.

Since returning from it, Taylor has been on the rise though and looks like a player reborn, playing the best football of his career.
