Last time around, Celtic had a brilliant summer transfer window. A lot of their new arrivals hit the ground running and it was not long before that they had turned the season around and went on to win the Premiership as well as the League Cup. The story has been a bit different this time around though.

Celtic did make quite a few additions to their squad once again, while keeping the core of their double-winning squad together, but we are yet to see much of an impact from the new arrivals till now.

The only one who has played a decent amount of football and made an impact is Moritz Jenz, who is on loan from Lorient. And questions were raised about him as well after the performance vs St Mirren.

The most exciting signing that Celtic made this summer was that of Sead Haksabanovic. We are yet to see much of him though. He has made a few short cameos off the bench and the only start he made, against Shakhtar Donetsk, he lasted only the first half and had faded away by the end of that as well. He is yet to have a goal contribution in the Hoops.

International manager reveals why Celtic signing is struggling

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Montenegro manager, Miodrag Radulovic, said as reported by CDM:

"“The problem at the moment is that he wasn’t in training when the transfer went through, and he was playing no football at all.“So he will take time to fully match fit, but I can already tell he is gradually getting his fitness back with the games he plays.”"

It is safe to say that Haksabanovic is very highly rated and in the long term, one would be hoping that he turns out to be a good signing for Celtic. But at the moment, it is pretty clear that he is not up to match fitness.

Of course, Giorgos Giakoumakis was on the same boat last time around and he did turn around his Celtic career completely. Thus, it would be a mistake to count Haksabanovic out so early into his run at Parkhead.
