Celtic have already strengthened their squad significantly over the summer transfer window but it looks like the club already have their eyes on future targets as well. The efficiency with which the club have moved under the management of Postecoglou is impressive to say the least. And it looks like that will continue on.

The club have recently been linked with Maccabi Tel Aviv’s exciting attacking midfielder, Oscar Gloukh, who is still just 18 years of age but has already taken the Israeli league by storm.

Celtic have signed a lot of players from there in recent years, including Liel Abada last summer, and could they add the name of Gloukh to that list in the near future? Time shall tell, but it looks like Maccabi Tel Aviv might already be preparing for their brightest prospect to leave.

As reported by the Daily Record, Maccabi Tel Aviv owner Mitchell Goldhar told Ynet about Gloukh’s future:

"“Gloukh is one of the best players who grew up here in our academy. He has abilities that remind us of the greatest of them all. He will continue with us a little longer. Maybe in January or at most in the summer he will progress.”"

Celtic have been handed a massive boost in their chase to sign the highly rated midfielder from Maccabi Tel Aviv in the future

It will be very interesting to see if Gloukh does end up leaving the Israeli club in January or not. His current deal with the club is believed to run till the summer of 2024.

He is believed to have been rated by the club at a transfer value of around £8 million but it is hard to imagine that Celtic would be open to shelling out anything near that for a player who is still just 18 years of age and has not proven himself at the senior level, even though he has had some impressive performances for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Gloukh has made 5 appearances in the league this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists. Thus, it is not hard to see why he is so highly rated.
