Ange Postecoglou has been a super hit since joining Celtic as manager last summer. There were a lot of eyebrows raised when the appointment was made, after the club failed in their chase for Eddie Howe, but it is safe to say that it has worked out better than anybody could have expected. The team went on to win the Premiership and League Cup double with zero expectations around them.

This season, they are in the Champions League, and are taking the game to the teams in Europe’s elite competition as well, which goes on to show how far they have come in just over a year under the management of Postecoglou.

Thus, while Postecoglou did receive some criticism after Celtic’s 2-0 defeat vs St Mirren, one cannot overlook the bigger picture, which is that the former Australian national team manager has excelled in the Parkhead hot seat.

Thus, it is only natural that he has been linked with a move to the Premier League recently, and while a move to Brighton & Hove Albion might not have happened, one can rest assured that other teams with be linked with Postecoglou through the course of the season as more sackings take place.

Celtic: Postecoglou has been sent Rodgers warning

As reported by Football Insider, Frank McAvennie said:

"“The money might be better but I don’t think Ange is interested in that. It’s interesting but look at what happened to Brendan [Rodgers]. He’s in a terrible state now. All the promises that were made to him didn’t happen.“"

Of course, Brendan Rodgers is someone who left Celtic in the middle of the season in order to join Leicester City.

And to be fair to him, he has enjoyed quite a bit of success there, guiding them to the Europa League, winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield, and finishing fifth in back to back campaigns.

The current situation is nothing to write home about though as the Foxes sit at the bottom of the table and it might not be long before Rodgers is shown the exit door.
