Celtic have always been a place for promising youngsters to develop and improve their games. And over the past year or so, Ange Postecoglou’s coaching has just raised the bar a bit more, with a number of players arriving at Parkhead and developing into bona fide stars within a short time. The likes of Jota, Kyogo and Cameron Carter-Vickers are perfect examples.
The vision for the future should be appealing to youngsters. And Celtic, as a club have never been shy when it comes to investing in young footballers, in hopes of developing them into stars.
In the last summer transfer window, Celtic were impressively active as they signed multiple players to either add cover to and strengthen a particular area of the pitch or bring in the right names who would help bridge the gap between them and the European heavyweights in the Champions League.
And as the Hoops continue to enjoy success on the pitch, it should become even more attractive for youngsters to join the club in order to give their careers a boost.
West Ham United set to hold talks with Celtic target
As reported by Six Foot Two, West Ham United will again attempt to reach an agreement with the agents of Harrison Ashby before January. The right-back has been linked to Celtic, Newcastle United, Preston North End and Leeds United.
Ashby’s contract with West Ham United expires next summer. And till now, the Hammers have not been able to agree to an extension.
As a result, if this continues, West Ham United could be forced to listen to offers in January, rather than lose him for nothing six months later. Thus, this is a situation that Celtic might need to keep their eyes on.
Ashby has been impressive at the youth levels for West Ham United but the 20-year-old is yet to make his mark at the senior level.
