Celtic have signed a lot of highly talented players in recent times and some of them are already making an impact on Ange Postecoglou’s side and played a role in helping the team win the Premiership and League Cup double last season. And it appears that the Hoops already have their eyes on the future as well.
Ange Postecoglou has shown an incredible eye for talent till now but the only Australian player that he has brought in is Aaron Mooy, and to be honest, that is not working out as well as most people would have hoped till now as the midfielder is yet to make his mark in the Hoops.
But it looks like Postecoglou might have his eyes on another player, who could quite possibly be the biggest talent in Australian football right now.
As reported by the Daily Record, a youngster Postecoglou has been linked with is Australian forward Garang Kuol and the Celtic manager said about him:
"“He is definitely a talent. In my generation a lot of immigrants settled in Australia from a European background and some of our best footballing prospects came from those families.“It’s a similar scenario now with a lot of immigration coming from African nations. They’re bringing their love of football to Australia. Kuol is one of those who is forging his way and there’s real talent coming through. Both him and his brother in Germany are very talented footballers and hopefully they continue to progress because Australia will benefit.”"
Celtic linked with arguably the biggest talent in Australian football right now
It has just been a few days since Kuol turned 18 years of age but he has already made his presence felt at the senior level.
He has already been part of the A League All Stars team as well, who took on Barcelona earlier. And he has also been linked with a potential move to the Spanish giants in the future.
They are not the only big team keeping an eye on Kuol though as some rumours have emerged in the media that Newcastle United could be on the verge of signing the teenager in the very near future and bring him to England in the January transfer window.
It remains to be seen how things turn out and if Celtic are able to make their presence felt in the race to sign Kuol from Central Coast Mariners.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Kuol has scored 4 goals and provided an assist in 9 appearances and 189 minutes of football for Central Coast Mariners.
