Things never stop at Celtic as we all know. It has only been a couple of weeks since the summer transfer window slammed shut, but it looks like the Hoops already have plans in place for the winter one as well, as they look to retain their Premiership and League Cup titles while hopefully finding themselves in the knockout phase of the Champions League as well.

The World Cup at the end of this year could end up playing a significant part in the winter transfer window and if some of Celtic’s players end up impressing in Qatar, then it is very possible that clubs around Europe could try to sign them in early 2023.

Celtic have proven under the management of Ange Postecoglou that they are always a step ahead of the situation and this time around, it seems to be no different, as it looks like the club already have plans in place for the January transfer window.

As reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou said regarding the matter:

"“We have already started planning and have identified the targets that we need.“We will look to bring in players in January that hopefully then insulates us in case any of our players are taken off our hands. It’s part of our planning and we’re well underway in ensuring we are ready for that.”"

Postecoglou confirms Celtic’s January transfer plans with the uncertainty of the World Cup

It is not just other clubs making moves for Celtic stars after the World Cup that is a worry for the club.

The footballing calendar is absolutely packed this time around, even more so than usual, as a result of the tournament being played in the winter. As a result, one cannot rule out that players might start getting injured as they play so much football constantly.

Thus, that is another reason to keep eyes on the January transfer window already as well, in case any of the club’s key players ends up picking up an injury that will side line them for any significant length of time.

It is wonderful to see how efficiently things seem to be working at Celtic under the management of Postecoglou.
